AT LONG ISLAND’S INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

If you looking for a great place to spend a September weekend, the Long Island Family Festival is the place to be! This fun-filled Festival will take place on Friday, September 16 (music, food and carnival) Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18, 2011 (with plenty of entertainment) along the seaside beach at Babylon’s beautiful Tanner Park in Copiague. Admission is free.
The festival will feature an exhilarating carnival, live musical entertainment, pirate show, the “Oceanview Art & Gift Show,” a dog themed canine fashion show, “Tanner Jam” Skateboard Competition, Pizza Eating Contest and numerous other exciting activities including Game Crazy’s Gaming Tent. Don’t be surprised if you see pirates who landed on the beach re-enacting a time in history when they sought to control the seas while searching for buried treasure. This is a great family event that provides plenty of fun and festivities.
Children (and adults) of all ages will love the exhilarating rides featured in the Festival’s thrilling world-class carnival, presented by All County Amusements. Highlights at the Festival include a premier skateboarding demonstration and competition which provides a chance for skaters of all skill levels to see professional talent, Home Improvement offerings, appearances by Kidsville News’ Truman the Dragon, cultural dance programs, beer and wine tent and Celebrity Autograph opportunities. Music will be in the air at the Seaside Musical Shell Stage which will feature something to satisfy all musical and dance tastes. A variety of ethic, rock and salsa music will fill the air at the Festival beginning Friday evening and continuing through Saturday and Sunday. Saturday afternoon will heat up with the exciting Rhythm and Blues sounds of The Tash Brothers.
Another highlight for the weekend is Corky’s International Canine Haute Couture Fashion Show where canines dress up in their international costumes. In addition, throughout the weekend, the festival will recognize our heroes in Law Enforcement, Fire and Safety and our brave soldiers, veterans and support personnel. CANINES TO PUT THEIR BEST PAW FORWARD AT
CORKY’S INTERNATIONAL HAUTE COUTURE FASHION SHOW
What’s a well dressed dog supposed to wear? Well, if your closest canine “supermodel” is planning to attend the Fourth Annual Long Island Family Festival on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 at 12 noon at Copiague’s Tanner Park, then the outfit should take on an international flair, because one of the festival’s special events is “Corky’s International Haute Couture Fashion Show.” Corky Nightingale, the show’s creator who happens to be a West Highland White Terrier, has put a “bark out” to all her international canine friends and their owners to “Paws for Style” and select an international canine couture outfit which will bring canine fashion to a new standard of prestige and style.
Canines from all over the world are invited to parade in Prada, sparkle in Swaroski and walk in the park as they wag their tails on the “Catwalk” to the delight of dog lovers and the “pupparazzi.” French Poodles just might be wearing berets while Scottish Terriers could be sporting their kilts, daushunds might wear their lederhosen and English Bull Dogs might tip their derby’s at you. Whatever international breed your four legged fashionista is, he or she will have a howling good time.
